Mia’s First Day at Preschool

Mia woke up early. Today was a very special day—it was her first day at preschool.

Mia put on her little backpack and held Mommy’s hand. “Will you come back?” Mia asked. “Of course,” Mommy smiled. “And while I’m gone, you’re going to have a wonderful adventure.”

When Mia arrived, a kind teacher opened the door. “Hello, Mia! I’m Miss Lily. I’m so happy you’re here.” Miss Lily had a warm smile.

Miss Lily welcomes Mia kindly at the preschool door while Mommy stands beside her.

Inside the classroom, Mia saw so many things. There was a big box of colorful crayons, as well as puzzles, building blocks, toy animals, dolls and little cars. “Wow!” whispered Mia.

A boy named Leo was building a very tall tower. “Do you want to help me?” he asked. Mia added one blue block, then another, and another.

CRASH! The tower fell down. Mia and Leo looked at each other… and started to giggle.

Soon it was time to draw. Mia drew a big yellow sun, a green tree and a tiny purple cat. “That’s a lovely picture,” said Miss Lily.

Then all the children sat together for a story. They sang songs, clapped their hands and danced like silly little penguins.

After snack time, Miss Lily opened the door to the playground. Outside there was a slide, a sandbox and little bikes. Mia climbed up the steps of the slide. “Ready?” called Leo. “Ready!”

Wheeeeee! Down she went. Again! And again!

Mia zooms down the playground slide while a friend cheers beside the sandbox and little bikes.

Later, Mia and her new friends made a big sandcastle. They pretended it was a castle for dragons, princesses and friendly monsters.

There was so much to do at preschool. You could paint, build and play pretend. You could listen to stories, sing songs, dance, run outside and discover new things.

And best of all… there were new friends to meet.

At the end of the day, Mommy came back. Mia ran to her. “Mommy! Mommy! I made a friend! And I painted! And we went down the slide! And we built a castle!”

Mia runs happily into her long-haired mother's arms while Miss Lily and her new friends wave goodbye.

Mommy smiled. “So… do you want to come back tomorrow?” Mia thought for a moment. Then she smiled. “Yes!”

Because preschool wasn’t a scary new place anymore. It was a place full of toys, pictures, games, kind teachers and new friends.

And tomorrow… another little adventure would begin.

The end.
