This is Harry the hedgehog. Harry has prickles and a yellow scarf.

Tonight is Halloween! Harry wants a big pumpkin.
It is a sunny morning. Harry walks to the pumpkin patch. Tip-tap, tip-tap, tip-tap.

Here is a small pumpkin. Here is a medium pumpkin. And here… an enormous pumpkin!

Harry pushes. Hmmm! He pushes even harder. Hmmmmm!

The pumpkin moves. Roll, roll, roll! It is going down the hill!
“Stop, pumpkin! Stop!” calls Harry as he runs after it.

The pumpkin rolls past Rosie Rabbit. Hop! Rosie jumps into the air.

The pumpkin rolls past Sally Squirrel. Whoosh! Leaves fly everywhere.

The pumpkin rolls toward Milo Mole. Milo peeks out of the soil. “What is that?”
Bump! The pumpkin stops right on top of the molehill.

Harry catches up. Rosie catches up. Sally catches up. Puff, puff, puff!
“Milo, are you all right?” Milo climbs out and laughs. “Hee-hee, what a ride!”

“Will you help me roll the pumpkin home?” asks Harry. “Yes!” call his friends.
Roll, roll, roll… all the way to Harry’s home beneath the apple tree. Harry brings a spoon and a box of paints.

Sally scoops out the seeds. Rosie paints the eyes. Milo paints the nose.
And Harry paints a great big smile. The pumpkin is smiling!

The sun is setting. Harry places a little candle inside the pumpkin. Flicker!

Harry spreads out a soft blanket. The friends sit around the glowing pumpkin. They feel warm and cosy.

Rosie yawns. Yaaawn. Sally yawns. Yaaawn. Milo yawns. Yaaawn.
Harry snuggles up to the pumpkin and whispers, “Goodnight, little pumpkin.”

Everyone is asleep. The pumpkin glows quietly. Goodnight. The End.
