Bibi wants to play the little drum. Pip the puppy needs the sound to be soft.
Bibi sat on the soft play mat with Mama.
Bibi looked at the small yellow drum.
The drum had two soft round sticks.
Bibi held one stick and tapped, tap tap.
Pip the puppy came close to listen.
Pip looked at Bibi and wagged his tail.
Bibi wanted Pip to dance with her.
Bibi held the stick and tapped harder, tap tap tap!
The loud sound made Pip jump back.
Pip pulled back behind the big blue pillow.
Bibi stopped and looked at Mama.
"Too loud," said Mama in a soft voice.
Mama touched Bibi's hand very gently.
"Soft hands," said Mama, "try again."
Bibi took a slow breath with Mama.
Bibi held the little stick again.
Bibi touched the drum softly, tap tap.
This sound was small and nice.
Pip looked out from the pillow.
Bibi waited and did not tap.
Pip took one tiny step closer.
Bibi gave one soft tap, tap tap.
Pip hopped back to the play mat.
Pip looked happy and wagged his tail.
Pip wiggled in one little circle.
Bibi laughed and clapped her hands.
Mama gave Bibi a tiny shaker.
Bibi held it with both hands.
Bibi shook it softly, shake shake.
Mama held another shaker and smiled.
Pip sat beside the yellow drum.
Bibi pointed to Pip and smiled.
The drum and shakers made a gentle song.
Bibi gave Pip a soft pat.
Pip touched Bibi's hand with his nose.
Mama smiled and said, "That is gentle."
Bibi put the drum down.
Pip touched it with one paw.
"Soft tap," said Bibi.
Tap, tap.
Pip stayed close beside Bibi.
Now the drum was fun for everyone.
