Category: Reading Time

Select a story by the time available before bed. Categories begin with few-word reads of about thirty seconds, then move through two- to three-minute, five-minute and fifteen- to twenty-minute stories to adventures lasting an hour or more. The estimates assume an uninterrupted read; questions, repeated sounds, pictures and discussion can make the same story take longer.

Rosie the squirrel hears a hedgehog calling for help, but his prickles hurt her paws when she tries to free him. In this short hedgehog bedtime story, a few fallen leaves give Rosie an idea. Follow her gentle rescue and the happy roll home that follows.
